If you are missing an entire arch of teeth, you probably have difficulty speaking clearly and smiling with confidence. Your nutrition might also be suffering.

The dentists at Stubbs Dental in Bountiful and Layton, UT, are proud to offer the All-on-4® technique, allowing them to secure a lifelike custom denture which just four dental implants

What makes the All-on-4® treatment concept so revolutionary?

The Advantages of All-on-4

No Preparatory Procedures

Compared to traditional methods, All-on-4 implants can be placed in less jawbone tissue. Bone grafting is usually not needed, allowing patients who have suffered bone resorption to qualify.

Fewer Implants Posts

Typically, the All-on-4 method only requires four implants to secure your denture. This is possible because two implants are placed at an angle, maximizing available bone

Shorter Treatment Timeline

All-on-4 implants can be restored the same day as the surgery. You can receive a high-quality temporary denture that is fixed to your implants for a complete, functional smile.

Additional Benefits of All-on-4®

The majority of patients at Stubbs Dental report a significant improvement in the overall quality of their life after treatment. Restoring the smile of someone who has long suffered from dental issues related to tooth loss has numerous benefits. Patients who choose this dental implant option can expect to experience several major benefits:

  • Significantly enhanced self-confidence
  • Major reduction in anxiety about the appearance of their teeth
  • Greater convenience and less downtime since this procedure is completed in a single visit to the dental office
  • Avoiding the messy adhesives and ill-fitting artificial teeth often associated with traditional dentures
  • Enhanced stability and support for their denture thanks to the strong titanium base
  • Halt the degeneration of bone tissue that accompanies long-term tooth loss

How does the All-on-4 method work?

Strategic Implant Placement

The All-on-4 technique relies on two vertically placed implants and two angled posts.

Replace an Entire Arch of Teeth

This dentistry procedure is designed to replace an entire dental arch of missing teeth, so an implant-supported denture is typically the best option for patients who have experienced widespread tooth loss. Patients with significant dental damage and decay that require multiple tooth extractions are also good candidates.

This permanent solution to tooth loss and dental damage has a positive impact on jaw health as well. Traditional non-surgical treatment options like dentures do not protect against jaw degeneration. By choosing dental implants, patients will gain an increase in jaw stability.

Our approach to dentistry also pairs exceptional customer service with high-quality procedures. We pay extra attention to the comfort of our patients. Our dental team is committed to improving your oral health, and the dentists at our Bountiful practice can restore full form and function to your smile.

Are patients typically happy with their results?

We're Highly Experienced

Our doctors know what is takes to ensure your All-on-4 experience is a life-changing success. To date, Stubbs Dental has completed more than 745 All-on-4 arch cases! This doesn't include the single implant cases. Needless to say... we know a thing or two about quality work.

Qualifying Oral Conditions

Typically, there are two types of patients who make suitable candidates for this treatment:

Widespread Tooth Loss

Patients missing all of the teeth in a dental arch (the upper or lower set of teeth) or who have complete tooth loss.

Require Extractions

Patients who have some of their teeth, combined with reduced functionality and pain, who require tooth extractions.

Good Candidates Are Also:

Interested in Implants

Patients missing most or all of their upper or lower teeth may wonder if these implants are the best treatment option for them. During an in-depth consultation at our Bountiful office, our knowledgeable dentists can determine your candidacy. This streamlined approach to dental implants is appealing to many patients who desire a more convenient method of placing dental implants. If you are only missing one tooth, a single-tooth implant will be a better option.

In Need of a Faster Option

All-on-4 is an effective low-maintenance option for patients suffering from tooth loss. This state-of-the-art dentistry procedure allows patients to avoid continuous and costly visits to the dental office to correct their severely damaged teeth or denture readjustments. Instead, patients can have the work completed on their new smile in a single treatment. We perform all surgeries on-site at our completely digital office.

Missing Bone Tissue

Another appealing advantage of the All-on-4 system applies to patients who have been told they lack sufficient bone density for traditional dental implants. Severe tooth loss and decay cause jawbone atrophy. This can impact the number of dental treatment options available or necessitate bone grafting, but All-on-4 requires less bone tissue. The professional staff at our Bountiful dental practice can give you a new smile you can be proud to share with the world.

The Initial Consultation

Our Bountiful and Layton dentists are committed to determining which procedure will provide maximum benefit for our patients. To find out if All-on-4®, or another procedure, is the best choice for you, your doctor will meet with you for a consultation. During this appointment, your doctor will review your medical and dental history, as well as your 2D and 3D x-ray images to check the viability of your teeth and gums for implant placement. We can also provide examples in a slideshow format and will encourage patients to ask questions to ensure they fully understand the details of the procedure.

Understanding Your Procedure

Using 3D x-ray technology, your doctor will carefully plan your procedure, locating the exact implant location that affords the greatest efficiency and least trauma. On the day of your procedure, you will be given an anesthetic to ensure your comfort. Some patients may be placed under general anesthesia by a certified anesthesiologist.

All-on-4® is a major advancement in dental implant technology, reducing healing times and allowing for immediate restoration placement.

Next, the doctor will extract any teeth that need to be removed and create small holes in the jawbone. Through these holes he will insert four or more implants. He will then attach a prosthesis, or temporary natural-looking denture, to the implants. You will leave our Bountiful or Layton office with a complete set of securely retained dentures that allow you to chew, speak, and smile with complete confidence.

The All-on-4® System: A Dental Implant Solution That Can Make You Smile

Recovery Period and Final Results

While the All-on-4® technique represents a major advancement in dental implant technology, reducing healing times and allowing for immediate restoration placement, it is a surgery. Therefore, it is recommended that patients take one week off from work. Post-surgical pain is typically mild enough to be controlled with over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications. Your doctor will closely monitor your healing, and you will return to our office about two to three weeks after your procedure for a follow-up appointment.

Four to six months after your implant placement, you will return to our Bountiful or Layton office to have impressions made for the reinforced hybrid prosthesis, or permanent dentures. Technicians from our partner lab will be present during this appointment to ensure your permanent denture is crafted with the highest level of quality. This denture will look as natural as the first, but will instead be a titanium-supported restoration that is designed to last decades, if not a lifetime.
