Monthly Donation - Kevin Hurley Severe Brain Trauma
Each month Stubbs Dental donates the proceeds of all new patient exams to a deserving member or organization of our community. July's recipient is Kevin Hurley.

Just two weeks ago Kevin underwent a quadruple bypass, a scary open heart procedure that was successful. He was recovering well, surpassing his goals, and while feeling weak and low on energy, his doctors and family members were happy with his progress.
However, days ago while surrounded by family, he stood from his chair and took a sudden spill. His head hit the concrete directly, resulting in several skull and face fractures, brain bleeding, and severe brain trauma. While his vital signs signs are good, he is in the intensive care unit recovering from a brain injury. A process that could take weeks, months, or even years.
To make matters worse, Kevin and his wife Laurie are the owners of a small custom frame shop called Frameworks of Utah. Kevin’s condition inhibits him from earning an income and puts the business that he and his wife have worked so hard for at risk.
Kevin is a a dear, genuine, and hard working man who has served those around him endlessly. He is deserving of good care, and kindness. At the end of July Kevin has started to come around, has started to speak, smile, and show body awareness. He is no longer using a ventilator or catheter. He is learning to walk again with assistance and therapists are working on his ability to swallow, sit and stand without assistance, along with improving motor skills. He will be using a feeding tube and will continue aggressive therapy as long as needed. He recognizes people, enjoys listening soft music, and while confused and at times for disoriented, he is showing cognitive gains.
On August 19th Kevin will be released from the hospital! Although he still doesn't understand what has happened to him, he will continue his recovery at home. He still has a long way to go, and many cognitive repairs to make.
Stubbs Dental was able to donate $2,475 to help Kevin with cover medical costs. If you are interested in donating to Kevin's fund please visit his Go Fund Me page.
