March Donation: Miss Utah Volunteer Organization
Our March 2021 donation goes out to the Miss Utah Volunteer Organization, a group focused on empowering young women in our own communities through educational scholarships and extraordinary opportunities. These funds will be put towards a year full of amazing opportunities of service and volunteerism as well as scholarships that can help propel her and others education forward.
The current Miss Utah Volunteer is Alyssa Wood, a resident of Farmington, UT. She is currently studying at Utah State University, and because school has mostly been remote this year, Alyssa has taken advantage of her new found flexibility to get out and volunteer in the community. From St George to Logan, she is not letting any opportunity pass her by. As of January 2020 to now, Alyssa and members of the Miss Utah board have collectively accumulated over 2800 volunteer hours. From working on Executive Boards for other non profit organizations in a volunteer capacity to helping with covid -19 vaccination efforts, to helping sew over 3000 masks, mentoring and tutoring children who are struggling with remote learning, working in the food pantries, and the list goes on. They aim to not only give back to those who have helped shape their lives, but also are working to empower the upcoming generations to show that THEY CAN and WILL make a difference in the communities around them by getting involved!
While this particular organization may be newer to the pageant system, the concept is not a new one. The entire committee of Miss Utah Volunteer has at one time or another held various titles, leadership positions and had extraordinary opportunities in various other organizations and understands how the impact that these opportunities and experiences provide help mold these young women’s futures. They all feel strongly that this program offers undeniable benefits to so many people, and the empowerment, passion and pride it teaches these women is one that will inspire them to be the BEST version of themselves in all things. This is the reason all of our committee members so passionately volunteer hundreds of hours to not only this organization but throughout the community. We recognize how this opportunity will open the door to so many incredible successes and be a life changing event that will inspire her and all of those around her.
Stubbs Dental was able to donate $5,670 towards this charitable and noble cause!
