2021 $45,000 Father's Day New Smile Giveaway Winner: Ryan Van Seters
Our 2021 Father's Day giveaway has concluded! After receiving hundreds and hundreds of nominations and spending many long hours reading about the amazing people in our community we have found a winner! It is always an extremely difficult process to pick, but after much deliberation we were able to narrow it down and are very excited to announce our winner, Ryan "Dutch" Van Seters!
Dutch received many heartfelt nominations from his friends, family, and colleagues outlining the amazing things he had done for his community, and the noble intentions behind his actions. He also raised over 100 signatures on a petition nominating him for our dental makeover, and before winning the giveaway had nearly $8,000 raised in a gofundme which he will now donate to others suffering from tooth loss.
A man of many hats Dutch has served as an EMT, frontline healthcare worker, non-denominational pastor, counselor, educator, veteran, devoted friend, and a father.
We wanted to share some excerpts from the beautiful nominations Dutch recieved:
I encountered Dutch as the fearless lead instructor for my EMT course back in early 2019. He brought an incredible level of compassion, expertise, and enthusiasm to every single class. He led a team that not only taught my classmates and I the nitty gritty of patient assessment and care, but also the ever-important why of working in emergency medical services. His heart is big enough for the world, which is no mean feat! And despite his busy life in emergency medicine, we stayed in touch after I got my certification. Since then, he's gotten married, had the cutest little kid, and worked countless hours on the front lines fighting Covid and keeping our communities safe.
This guy is just an all around honest to goodness excellent human being with an amazing story to tell. He is an EMT in the ER and is one I would want to have working by my side when a critically sick patient or a really bad trauma would come in. He is always the first to jump to someone's aid and will go out of his way to help his coworkers and fellow man out, whether it be with work related tasks or even emotional support and someone just to talk to when the going got tough. And trust me, thanks to this lovely pandemic, the going got quite tough in that ER. He has served his country in the navy for many years and he has also served his community working on ambulance services. Dutch recently became a dad and is a very dedicated father to his child and a loving husband to his wife.
Dutch has spent the last several years of his life helping people. Whether it be to help people prepare and pass EMT tests to enter the job force, or actually help people live, and be generally as comfortable as possible.
Dutch has clearly had a profound effect on all those around him, his drive to push forward and willingness to help has improved the lives of everyone around him. It brings us great joy to help such an amazing person and we are so excited to give Dutch a brand new permanent set of teeth with the All-on-4® procedure! Check back for updates as we start this life changing journey.
