2022 Mother's Day Runner Ups: Cindy Piper & Melissa Killpack
Each year it is nearly impossible to narrow it down to just a single mother. We hear so many beautiful touching stories and it pains us too much to only help one individual. That is why we are so happy to present this years runner ups: Cindy Piper and Melissa Killpack!

We would like to share some excerpts of their nominations below:
2nd Place Cindy Piper: $5,000 towards treatment
Cindy never had any children of her own and always took care of each one of her nieces and nephews (twelve of us) as if they were her own. She used to play the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause for my cousins because their mom could not do a lot for them. They always though that the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus rang the doorbell. Even their mother never knew wo it was. Each one of them will tell you that she is their favorite aunt. 17 years ago, she had the opportunity to adopt her son. His birth mother at the time was 15, already had a 1 ½ year old daughter and was in a bad living situation with her drug addicted mother. She took her and her daughter into her home and ended up adopting Zander at the age of 42. She will tell you that he is the best gift she ever received. She adopted him as a single mother and has given him a great life. She has raised a very loving and caring young man that loves his mom more than anything. I have noticed that she never goes anywhere anymore. She was always on the go. Her depression has been hard on her and she hates to smile because of her teeth. She comments that she loves that she can wear a facemask in public because no one can see her lack of teeth. Having this opportunity to have this dental work done and done right, and not have to make payments, would be world changing for her. It could not happen to a more giving woman who genuinely cares about everyone even people she has never met. All that know her will tell you what a wonderful and caring person she is.
She would do anything in her power to help someone or something in need. In the past few years her health has taken a turn and she is no longer able to work. Her health helped in the decay of her teeth and she has been working on getting dentures paying for everything out of pocket and doing it small steps at a time. She doesn’t smile like she used to and I would love to give her a reason to smile again. She is on a fixed income with SSDI and money is tight but she always finds a way to make sure I have what I need and that others that need things are helped as well. She is the poster child for this giveaway and I cannot think of anyone more deserving than her.
3rd Place Melissa Killpack: $2,500 towards treatment
I think Miss deserves to win because she needs a new smile, for many reasons. The first being that she needs to chew and eat! Her teeth were pretty much ruined by a previous dentist, whom she put her trust in. They pulled many of them out and didn't finish the work that they started, which was really really poor. This whole experience left her devastated and heartbroken! It left her with her mouth in horrible shape! She feels like she can't even smile without being so embarrassed which is just so sad (as she is such a positive and happy girl) .Also they hurt which is also really terrible..tooth pain is the worst! She's a single Mom and works a full time job from home while taking care of her little 16 month old boy Raiden ( my cute and adorable grandson). She doesn't have Dental insurance and any other financial help, which is challenging to say the least. Winning this would change her life as not only would she get her smile back but would also be able to eat normally and be out of pain. She's a lovely young lady with years ahead of her. Miss is a super Mommy, such a hard worker, wonderful, giving and thoughtful and always such an appreciative individual. The best daughter, as well as being so helpful with her sister and her girls and anyone in general who needs a hand. It would be so special and meaningful for her to get her smile back and really get her life back with it.
I enrolled in dental insurance though my work. I made an appointment to come in to get the crowns finished and talk about the rest of the treatment plan to finish my implants. When I got to my appointment, I gave them my new insurance info and they informed me that my new insurance didn’t cover any teeth that were already missing, and that I would now be charged for everything moving forward. THIS DESTROYED ME. Knowing that there was absolutely no way I could afford to finish all of the work that they had started. I just don’t understand how an experienced dentist could start a project like that KNOWING that their
patient’s insurance wouldn't last long enough for them to finish the process. I have never felt so betrayed or heart broken in my life. Now I was literally stuck with almost all of my teeth removed and my top front three teeth drilled down for crowns that were never finished.
