January 2023 Donation: Primary Children's Hospital
Our January 2023 donation goes out to Primary Children's Hospital, a not-for-profit, free-standing children's hospital providing quality healthcare for children with complex illnesses and injuries. They recently celebrated their 100th anniversary and have been providing exceptional care to children since 1922!
Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, in partnership with University of Utah Health, has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals in eight pediatric specialties.:
- Cancer Care
- Cardiology and Heart Surgery
- Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Surgery
- Neonatal Care
- Nephrology
- Neurology and Neurosurgery
- Urology
- Orthopedics (recognition shared with Shriners Children's Salt Lake City)
For families of sick children, these rankings provide unparalleled quality-related information, including: survival rates, adequacy of nurse staffing, procedure volume, and much more. Since their 2007 debut, the rankings have put an increasing emphasis on data that directly reflect hospitals’ performance over the opinions of physicians. The rankings are based on clinical data obtained from nearly 200 pediatric centers and the opinions of nearly 11,000 surveyed pediatric specialists and sub-specialists.
